My research sits at the intersection of methodological biostatistics, applied AI, and Veteran-focused health services research. I work with students and collaborators who are curious about real-world health data, comfortable thinking carefully about study design and inference, and willing to learn the computational tools — typically R, Python, or both — that make rigorous methods possible. The notes below describe how to get in touch and what kinds of engagement are currently possible.
PhD and MS admissions in the Department of Biostatistics & Health Data Science are managed centrally through the department, not by individual faculty. If you are interested in the methodological or applied work described on the Research page, the right next step is to apply to the department directly — applications are reviewed in the fall. Once admitted, students can choose to work with any faculty whose research interests align with theirs, and the topic of RA or TA assignments need not overlap with the dissertation.
